Until I get a decent quality mic for my PC, I’ll have to do my mod reviews here (I’ll still do text versions though when I do move this series to Youtube). Since I play Fallout 4 primarily on Xbox, some of these mods might not be available on PS4 or PC. This series is aimed at Xbox One owners.

Today, I’ll be doing a showcase of some of the building mods I use on the Xbox One. I’ll be separating mods into categories, so mods that actually change the settlements themselves won’t be in this one. This showcase will look at mods that apply to the workshop menu.

Fallout 4 Ww2 Mods Xbox One
  1. Renovated Furniture

This mod adds a tone of restored and clean versions of existing items in the game such as couches, tables and chairs, beds, fridges, shelves and functional pre-war cooking stoves. This mods adds over 100 new items so it will clutter up your menu quite a bit since this mod doesn’t create a new section for the new stuff and mixes it in with vanilla stuff. Still, it allows you to create a variety of styles and unique looks so no two homes will look exactly the same.

2. Pre-War and Post-War Sanctuary House Build Set

This has become one of my favorite mods and I use it in all my settlements. In the ‘Metal’ structures menu are two new folders: Pre-War and Post-War build sets for the old Sanctuary Hills homes (based on the real-life Lustron houses which were built in America following WW2). They come in two versions: clean pre-war sets and rusted post-war sets. The walls come in green, blue, red and yellow and are great if you want a really modern-looking settlement. There are also a wide variety of floor types with foundations so you can build on sloped ground. Works really well with pre-war furniture mods.

3. Thematic and Practical

Like the title suggests, this mod adds furniture and structures which fit in with the post-nuclear war theme. All of the furniture looks rough and hand-made, and decorations include rusted car wrecks, cinder blocks and barrels. It also adds small hut-like structures that act as stores, which is a bit more realistic than tiny stands with no goods in sight.

4. Decoration and Furniture Expansion Pack

The first thing I like about this mod is that it has it’s own menu rather than mixing with the vanilla furniture section. Within this section are some structures such as platforms, but it mostly has furniture, resources (such as water towers and wireless fuseboxes with heaps of power), and decorations. Unlike Renovated Furniture, this mod adds items that exist in the vanilla game but cannot be added to settlements in addition to clean versions of vanilla items. It also adds a selection of non-functional (so just for show) pre-war vehicles such as cars, boats, military and construction vehicles. They don’t function as vehicles but make for great decoration. It also adds a selection of flags and props such as drinks and static bobbleheads.

5. Settlement Objects Expansion Pack – Non DLC

There is an All-DLC version of this mod which requires all FO4 DLC to work, but for the sake of convenience I’ll focus on the non-DLC version. This mod adds numerous structure and other items. Each item category has it’s own menu next to the vanilla items in that category (so Furniture items added by this mod will be found as it’s own folder in the Furniture tab and so on for each item type). My favourite theme is the Institute theme, which adds high-tech looking doors, windows, and walls as well as Institute themed-furniture. I also like that it adds pre-war diner booths so you can have that 1950’s diner feel in your settlements.

6. Snappy HouseKit

Best Fallout 4 Xbox Mods

This mod is a little clunky and can be extremely hard to navigate and frustrating at times, but you’ll find yourself satisfied with the end result. It adds a lot of unique structures into the game such as proper church structures, wallpapers (only compatible with walls used in this mod, sadly), and the wooden pre-war houses that you see a lot. Just take a look at some of the screenshots and you’ll get what I mean.

And Finally for some smaller mods:

  • Automatron Unlocked – Lets you craft robots from the beginning of the game and unlocks all parts for you right at the start. The main Automatron quest line still requires you to reach level 15 first. Requires the Automatron DLC, obviously.
  • Place Anywhere – This mod lets you place objects in ‘red’ areas which you normally can’t build in. First, you have to place the object normally in a green spot, then select it again and press X to activate the feature. It has this weird shaky effect when you first move it, but you can fix this by just selecting the item once it’s in place and just pressing B to let it go. This mod also adds an Options menu to items when you look at them, which lets you change the size and position of the object.
  • Television Replacer – This just replaces the default TV model with a wooden box-like one. It adds both a pre-war and a weathered one and both of them are functional.

  • Move Power Armor in Workshop – This simply lets you select the power armor frame in Workshop mode and move it wherever you want.
